Frequently Asked Questions

Do we shoot on any other day of the week? As other clubs use the same facilities as us, therefore we share the facility throughout the week, with Thursday being our assigned day.
We also have specific Monday nights for club training, but recommend that visitors and new members attend on a Thursday.
What does it cost? Membership fees are currently $80 per year + $5 range fees per night.
Visitors range fees are $10 per night.
Do you take EFTPOS? No currently we do not have EFTPOS facilities at the club. We take cash or bank transfer.
Do we shoot anything other than .22LR rifle? As the facility is only rated for .22LR sub-sonic ammuniction, we can only shoot .22LR rifles.
Is there any recoil on the rifle? The .22 calibre is arguably the most user friendly calibre, and virtually has no recoil.
Can I become a member/what is the membership process? We recommend that you come and experience the club, and join within 3 weeks. Membership is simple, applying via a form.
What is a detail? A “detail” is what we call a fully scored, competitive shoot on the full target, that we run regularly each Thursday.
Do I need a Firearms Licence? No. We can supervise those without a firearms licence.
Can I use my own rifle? Yes, so long as it is a .22 LR. Most of our club members use their own rifles.
We also have club rifles that can be used. Please contact us so we can make sure there is a rifle there for you.
Do I need my own rifle? No. We have club rifles that can be used. Please contact us so we can make sure there is a rifle there for you.
How does a Thursday night operate? Doors open around 6.15pm, with the registration and set-up. We aim for Beginners and Visitors to shoot at 6:30pm, and then Club members at 7.15pm. Details generally last around 30-45 minutes, with targets replaced between each. On completion of shooting, there is tea and biscuits, target marking, and finally pack-down.
